IPL Photofacial Treatment Instructions
Pre-Treatment Instructions
Discontinue Accutane 6 months before treatment.
Stop using Retinoids and exfoliants 1 week before treatment.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol for 24–48 hours before treatment.
Avoid tanning and direct sun for 2 weeks.
Inform your technician of any photosensitive meds or supplements.
Hydrate well in the days leading up to treatment.
Avoid strenuous exercise or overheating right before treatment.
Arrive with clean, bare skin (no makeup, lotions, or creams).
Remove contact lenses if treating near the eyes.
Post-Treatment Instructions
Apply a cold compress to the treated area.
Wash twice daily with a gentle cleanser and warm water.
Moisturize to keep the skin hydrated.
Take antihistamines for mild swelling or hives.
Skip heat exposure (baths, saunas, steam) for 24 hours.
Refrain from picking at scabs or dry spots.
Stay out of the sun and avoid UV exposure for 2 weeks. Apply SPF daily.
Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, or chlorinated water for 24–48 hours.
Hold off on harsh treatments (peels, waxing, other lasers) for 1 week.
Resume your regular skincare routine after 1 week.
